Art was elected President of the Continental Golf Club in November
2000, after serving a year as Handicap Chairman and 2 years as Tournament
Chairman. He is responsible for introducing a number of innovations
designed to add fun and excitement to the already exciting game of
golf. A sampling of Art's innovations and initiatives include the
following:
- Introduction of the "D" flight in 1998,
(20 + handicappers).
- Formation of the popular and productive
"Ways & Means" Committee, 1998.
- Introduction of a "flight" playoff system
to determine the annual Club Champion, in 1999.
- Creation of the popular club vs. club
"challenge matches" between WSGA Southern Area golf clubs.
- Development of the annual 2 day WSGA
Southern Area Championship Tournament starting in August 2000.
- Introduction of the high pressure "Real
Deal" wagering system to the Southern California golfing community.
As President, Art actively promotes friendly,
but serious competition in all aspects of the game of golf. Under
his innovative and daring leadership, the Continental Golf Club
is experiencing exceptional growth and acceptance.

Robert "Fat Man" Dixon Vice President

As Vice President, Robert serves as Chief Executive in the absence of the President. Robert is also Director of special projects such as golf vacations, challenge matches and special events.

Barbara Thompson
Treasurer

Barbara collects and accounts for all club
funds. She submits monthly financial reports to the Board of Directors
with detail of receipts and disbursements for the prior month.

Dorothy Palmer Secretary

Forester, Arkansas
Dot records and reports the minutes of all club meetings. She frequently introduces innovative fund raising projects to the Board of Directors for implementation.

Lois "YoBabyLo" Burr
Tournament Chair

Yobabylo manufactures golf course excitement. She finds exciting golf courses for club members to play monthly, and in between, she co-ordinates "knock down drag our real deal" competitions between Continental members and other brave souls looking for a deal.

Ollie "schitzo" Linson Handicap Chair

Los Angeles, California
Ollie keeps the playing field level for all members at all skill levels. He monitors all club handicaps monthly and conducts quarterly and annual reviews of "posting" patterns.

Reggie "trouble" Collins
Ways & Means Chairman

The Ways & Means Committee finds ways & means to assist the club in accomplishing all of it's ambitious goals. From fund raising; to golf parties; to uniform distribution; to back-stopping; (that is, when somebody "drops the ball").

Brian Green
Membership Chairman

Marrero, Louisiana
The Membership Committee processes all applications for membership to the club. Additionally the committee maintains current membership rosters with WSGA and SCGA.

Rules Chairman

The Rules Committee monitors compliance with USGA Rules of Golf in all club competitions. The committee issues rulings and resolves arguments, fights, and disputes, consistent with USGA Rules.

Greg "train smoke" Sims
Parliamentarian

San Jose, California
"Train Smoke" insures compliance with generally accepted parliamentary policy and procedures in the conduct of the club's meetings and decision making. He maintains and updates the club's constitution and bylaws as required.
